Born in Rome and adopted into a white family when I was two months old,  I was fortunate to grow up in an Anglo-Italian household, immersed in a bilingual environment. This upbringing provided me with immediate exposure to diverse cultural backgrounds, traditions, and perspectives.

From a very young age differences fascinated me, both in people and in the world around me.  I discovered how much I loved languages, and that I had a natural talent for them.  As I grew older, my fascination with diversity deepened leading me to explore themes of identity, belonging, and inclusion—themes that resonated deeply with my own experiences.

 

Yet, along with this exploration came the realization that I often stood out as "the other" in various situations. Whilst this recognition initially posed challenges, it ultimately fostered resilience within me and fuelled my passion and commitment to supporting others on their journeys toward a more diverse, inclusive, and respectful world.

On a personal note, delving into my ancestry has recently provided me with additional pieces to my identity. My ethnic background now includes Afro (Mauritius) and Indian (Sri Lankan) heritage, adding further richness to my cultural tapestry.

Professionally, I've had the privilege of working across diverse industries and cultures, solidifying my belief that differences are not only valuable but essential.
